Rivers Bend Quilters December 2020 Newsletter

December 31, 2020 Newsletter

Hi Ladies!

I hope this finds everyone well and healthy.  This has been such a challenging year with the pandemic.  Everything has been turned upside down and inside out.  Many have suffered so much loss and difficulties.  I do pray that our new year with the new vaccine will bring a calming to our country and ease of suffering.

I have requested the use of the Fellowship Hall at Holy Trinity for our 2021 meetings. At such time the CDC recommendations and the churches guidance allows us to return.

The dates for the 2021 meetings are Jan 4 (will not meet), Feb 1, Mar 1, Mar 21 (Charity quilting day), Apr 5, May 3, June 7, July 5, Aug 2, Sept 13, Oct 4, Nov 1, Dec 6.

End of 2020 Finances by Elaine Gabal:
$500.00 donation sent to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church -               A nice thank you was received
$250.00 Deposit remains on a Future Bus Trip
    $2350.97 End of Year Balance

Elaine Gabal & her husband were the winners of our Raffle Quilt. Yea Elaine!!

I have begun working on a few QOV tops.  I purchased American themed panels and various yardages for borders. I dug out my AccuQuilt and have precut star blocks ready to piece.  I am hopeful with my preparation to piece some tops I can get some made this year.

Remember to put together a list of any local Vietnam Combat Veterans you are aware of that have not yet received a QOV.

If anyone is interested in doing a block of the month or other project with the group via newsletter email/snail mail, let me know.  All I would need from you is a link to the site or a PDF that I will send out to the group.  I have included a few free patterns from Villa Rosa Designs (given for my use by Villa Rose since I have a wholesale account with them).
